Dreamscape

Materials: Digital photographs, Photoshop

Process: I created a photomontage of a dreamscape using photoshop tools such as layer masks to make selections and adjustment layers to add shading and hue shifts to add realism to the piece. I also used different layer modes such as "overlay" and "soft light" to create various effects like a glow to elements such as the moon.

Ideas: In this project I wanted to create a fantasy and playful mood. I pushed the mood of fantasy by making the moon look incredibly large, especially compared to the planets floating in the person's hand. I also created a magical aura coming from the hand and wrapping around the floating planets. I pushed a playful theme by having the planets float in the persons hand, showing more exploration, like the person is testing newly found magic -- or something of the sort.
