Russian Constructivism Calendar Design

Materials: Digital Illustration, Photoshop

Processes: I created my calendar illustration through using shapes with very few lines, as well as using a restricted color scheme. I did this to imitate the style of Russian Constructivism.

Ideas: The illustration style and message was inspired by Russian Constructivism. The message of the illustration is to call attention to the actions being done to people such as Sayragul Sauytbay (The woman illustrated) in the Xinjiang Camps in China. The fence and watchtower in the background represent the camp and Sayragul Sauytbay shows one of the few escapees. As Russian Constructivism is based around Social/Political issues, I also wanted to reference that in my final illustration.
